After playing with my MV500 for a few days, I have to say it's a good deal. The camera takes sharp pictures, and the video, with a 640x480 resolution, is clear and crisp. The menu system is intuitive, despite the four-way design of the camera. I wpuld recommend the MV500, if you need a good 5 MP camera that takes decent video for a good price, this is the way to go.
Im a professional film maker and I use this camera for location scouting / behind the scenes footage. It works surprisingly well. The voice recorder is great for taking notes, the images are more than clear enough for what I want, the on board mic surprised everybody, picks up things we didn't think it would. Let me be clear, I wouldn't make a movie with this, it doesn't compare with 35mm or even a good dv cameras but this isn't a multi thousand dollar peice of equipment. It would be great for home movies or, as I use it, location shots or behind the scenes footage. One of my favorite features is the size of it. It can fit right in your pocket. The great thing is the camera now supports rechargebale lithuims using the nokia 8210 battery.
